Taco Nazo® was started in 1978 by Ensenada natives, Maria and Gilberto Romero. They wanted to bring the authentic, fresh taste of Ensenada cuisine to the people of California. Their venture first began as a humble lunch truck, which they bought with their life savings. Three years of self-sacrifice, careful saving and rapid word-of- mouth advertising by satisfied customers, soon allowed them to open their first Taco Nazo® restaurant in La Puente, California.

   Since then, the Romero family has been able to expand their stores as their reputation has steadily grown. Because of this, they have catered a multitude of events and have fed everyone from the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers to Lupillo Rivera, Prince and Paris Hilton. Yet, they have never veered away from their down-home flavor and heartfelt service. They are proud to say that people come from far and wide to visit one (or all!) of their six locations.

   For over thirty years, they have maintained their reputation as serving the “#1 fish tacos in Southern California” (and were officially bestowed the honor and title by Tu Cuidad magazine), have forged strong relationships with the community thanks to their involvement with various school districts and fund raising programs, and have even won the praise of famed food critic, Merrill Shindler. Their use of fresh ingredients, char- grilled, marinated meats and large variety of delicious vegetarian items proves that Taco Nazo® truly has something for everyone!
