Our Story

Our Story

Originally a taco truck in 1978, the La Puente location is now a cultural landmark in Los Angeles. When Gilberto and Maria Romero brought their Fish Taco recipe across the border, they not only Pioneered the Ensenada-Style Fish Taco but also permanently infused their Baja culture into Los Angeles.

We were driving through to Whittier and needed to grab a quick bite. Taco Nazo was a pleasant find. Very close to freeway, we ordered and the food was served quickly and the server, Christian, was very helpful. We tried a variety of tacos. Al Pastor and chicken were my favorites. Since it’s outdoor seating and right ... next to the road, it can get a bit noisy. The food is very authentic and even say a free range chicken roaming around. Two thumbs up. Read More

This is the La Puente branch of Taco Nazo. It’s just off 605 highway and very convenient since it is counter service only. No fuss, you order and take a seat; they bring your plate to your table. Fish taco and Al pastor taco were extremely good. Fish was still warm and goes well either way the slivers of cold cabbage. ... Al pastor had the taste of chili oil cooked over the heat. This location is a bit small but service was quick so probably not too much wait except during peak times. Read More

Heard good things about this place from friends at work. Decided to make the 45 minute drive to see for myself. Happy I did. The fish tacos were excellent and so we're the shrimp. I prefer the fish over the shrimp though. Got a large mixed ceviché and man it was packed. Delicious as well. Definitely worth a try!
